FAQ Licenses & Installation

01 Do you offer educational discounts?
We do not offer individual educational licenses. We do offer discounted educational lab packs from 5 licenses and up for school and other educational institutions. If you are interested in purchasing a lab pack, please contact us directly.

02 My serial number is locked. What do I do?
If the NI Service Center prompts you that your serial number is locked, this means you reached the maximum number of activations for this serial number. To free up activations of systems you no longer use, please contact us directly.

03 On how many computers can I install one product license?
The license agreements of all our products allow you to install, activate and use the product on a maximum of 3 systems at the same time.

04 Can I purchase additional licenses?
If you wish to use one of our products on 4 or more computers, an additional license is required. These "side-licenses" can be purchased for 50% of the original license pricing. Please contact us at info@projectsam.com for more information.

05 Is it possible to sell my ProjectSAM product?
Yes. A license can be transferred to another person ONCE. To legally do this, please fill in our license transfer form and sent it to ProjectSAM. After verification we will arrange the license transfer for you by unlocking the product serial number and changing the owner information. You can download the license transfer form here.

06 Can all licenses be transfered to another user?
No. Only full commercial licenses are transferable to another person. Not transferable are: NFR (Not-For-Resale), EDU (educational), UPG (upgrade).

07 I lost my serial number! What do I do?
Please note that it is your responsibility to keep a safe copy of your product serial numbers. In the case that your serial number is irretrievable, a new license will have to be purchased.
- If you ordered a Direct Download version of a product, your serial number is stored in your ProjectSAM account and can be looked up there.
- If you ordered a DVD version, did not register your product with ProjectSAM, but did activate the library in NI Service Center, then you can look up your serial number by logging into your NI account at www.nativeinstruments.com.
- If you ordered a DVD version, but neither registered nor activated your product, and cannot find your paper manual, then you will need to purchase a new license.
